Fees for Mediation

Fees for Mediation

Hi, I'm Ellen Scott and I want you to know that you get your best value
through mediation. If you or your spouse can make an appointment, we can handle
your issues out of court.

Why litigate, if you can communicate.

In mediation, you don't have to compromise at all. You do need to know the limits
of the law and the best outcome for your future.

Recently, Mr. Scott was asked by the court to look at a case where the husband and
wife did a "cooperative" type of mediation. The couple had been charged over
$150,000 and bad all kinds of coaches and lawyers, but little direction. All that
money came out of one family and the mediation failed.

Our mediation fee is based upon dozens of mediations in our office. Early on, we
realized that people can tell during the first appointment if they like the process and
can work with our firm.

Our standard mediation consist of four mediations, each lasting two hours with
specific subjects covered each time. Our standard fee is $3,995. An example of a
standard mediation includes family issues pertinent to a working couple with
children and a home. Some cases are easier and we charge less. If your case is
complex, we will show you up front what else needs to be done and what that is
likely to cost.

Our firm believes in mediation versus litigation, whenever possible. Through
mediation, our firm can assist you through the legal process quickly and with
minimal stress.

Please give us a call at (858)974-4900, we're Scott Family Law. Let us come along
side and let us help you.

Your Promise

One of my colleagues remarked that the word 'antenuptial' is like saying 'ante up' during a game of poker.

It's a contract made in anticipation of marriage, like the bet made in anticipation of a hand of cards, both representing a promise to carry through.
